Riseholme College to build new £2.4m student accommodation block

It is being built ready for the 2020/21 academic year

Riseholme College will build a new 39-room residential block at its Showground Campus after receiving £2.4 million of investment.

The new accommodation space on Lincolnshire Showground will be ready for the 2020/21 academic year, which will be available to both further education and higher education students.

It will feature 39 en suite rooms and include social and kitchen areas, as well as a flat for an on-site warden.

The complex will replace the existing residential facilities at the college’s nearby Riseholme Park campus.

The previously used residential block at Riseholme Park will be returned to the University of Lincoln for their usage as part of the wider development of that site, which includes investment in new agriculture and equine facilities.

“It is the right time to invest in these outstanding new facilities, which will enhance the whole college experience for those students who choose to live on campus.

“This new residential block will be of high specification and enable students from far corners of the county and beyond to access our state-of-the-art teaching facilities.

“There has never been a better time to be a student at Riseholme College, with significant investment in facilities and services, as well as further development of our curriculum offer to meet the needs of employers.”

Riseholme, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary, delivers a variety of further education college programmes and degrees, specialising in agriculture, animal management, engineering and equine. It also delivers a range of courses in different subject areas.
