Conservatives hold in Cleethorpes

The results are in

The Cleethorpes parliamentary seat has been held by The Conservatives in the 2019 General Election.

The party’s Martin Vickers took the seat with 31,969 votes, a majority of 21,418.

Turnout was 63.2% – a total of 46,582 votes.

Here’s how the vote panned out for each candidate:

  • Roy Horobin, Liberal Democrat: 2,535
  • Ros James, Labour: 10,551
  • Jodi Shanahan, Green: 1,284
  • Martin Vickers, Conservative: 31,969

The number of registered voters for this year’s election was up by 637 people compared to 2017, with 61,409 people signed up.

In 2017, Conservative Martin Vickers took the majority with 27,321 ballot papers – 10.5% higher than their 2015 victory. The party held the seat since 2010 when it took over from Labour.
