South Kesteven District Council looks set to back a plan to demolish the former Grantham Magistrates court to make way for a £3.5 million care home.
Crown Care Developments submitted proposals to the authority to flatten the former courthouse on Harlaxton Road.
A two-storey, 55 bedroom care home would be built as part of the plan as well as 21 car parking spaces.
Now, councillors have been recommended to back the proposal at a planning meeting on December 11.
The former magistrates court closed its doors in 2016 with cases moved to be heard in Lincoln and Boston.

The developer said in its plans that the new care home would be a large local employer, if the proposal was given the go-ahead.
It said: “The development would represent a capital investment of over £3.5 million and would create a business that would eventually employ approximately 70 local people on a full-time and part-time basis given the 24 hour staffing of the building.
“The business will represent a large new local employer and will have a sound financial future on the basis of present demographic trends.
“It also has a wider benefit to the community in increasing the demand for support services and will have a positive impact on local values and may provoke other capital investment in the area.”
