Community in shock as body found in search for much-loved Sutton on Sea woman

RIP Lisa

Family, friends and the local community have paid heartfelt tributes after the body of a woman was pulled from the river near Mile Lane in Mablethorpe.

As previously reported, Lisa Tyler, 41, from Sutton on Sea was reported missing from the area of Park Road on Monday evening, prompting a number of searches. Mile Lane in Mablethorpe was closed for a number of hours on Wednesday, January 22 and a body was pulled from the river.

Police believe the body to be that of Lisa Tyler and her family have been informed. Formal identification is yet to take place.

Lisa’s sister Claire Marks paid tribute to her in a Facebook post, which was shared multiple times and in a local Mablethorpe group, where over 100 messages of condolences were left.

She said: “My family and I would like to thank everyone who has shared posts and sent messages. Also everyone involved in the search for Lisa.

“My beautiful sister has been found. Unfortunately the outcome wasn’t what everyone was hoping for as she has passed away.”

Lisa’s mother Margaret Tyler said: “My husband and I would like to thank you, although thank you isn’t enough, and every single person, and there were so many of you, involved for your tremendous effort to find Lisa.”

A plethora of tributes and messages of condolences were left to Lisa, with Emmaleen Wilks adding: “I can’t believe it, I’m so sorry for your loss. Lisa was such a nice person.”

Heather Storr said: “So sorry for your loss, I went to Primary and Secondary school with Lisa, she was always so lovely, kind and caring. My thoughts are with you and your family.”

Helen Selina Eyers said: “I am so very sorry for your loss. I knew Lisa from our time at QEGS. She was always kind, sweet and friendly, sensitive and thoughtful. Many lovely memories. Words do not come easily in such circumstances. My heart goes out to you and all those who knew and loved Lisa.”

It’s the sixth time a body has been recovered from a Lincolnshire waterway this month.
