Lincoln City plans to add second tier to stadium

It will bring the total capacity up to 11,648

Lincoln City Football Club is planning to add a second-tier and 1,528 more seats to the Stacey-West stand at Sincil Bank.

The club has put an application into the City of Lincoln Council to bring the total capacity of LNER Football Stadium, Sincil Bank, up to 11,648.

It is unclear how much the added seats will cost, and the colour of the seating is still to be confirmed, although it is expected to follow the existing scheme.

As well as the stadium expansion, Lincoln City wants to replace the perimeter fence at the nearby artificial grass pitch.

The fencing will be an open steel mesh and will be insulated to reduce the noise created when footballs hit it at speed.

Councillors will decide on the planning application on a date to be confirmed.
