Sneak preview of new look Lincoln bar after £446k refurb

It will re-open to the public on Friday

A popular Lincoln High Street bar is getting ready to re-open with a new look and what it believes will be the “best beer garden in the city” after undergoing a £446,000 refurbishment.

Slug & Lettuce closed on January 5 for an extensive refurbishment, including booths with giant bird cages over them, more artwork, a cocktail masterclass station and a brand new beer garden.

The Lincolnite went for a sneak preview of the new look bar ahead of its official re-opening at 10am on Friday, January 31.

One of the biggest changes is outside with around £90,000 spent on a new beer garden, which includes a pagoda over part of the garden and more seating.

The bar was also ripped out and rebuilt with more service space. The toilets were also gutted and refurbished.

The Lincoln refurbishment echoes the specification of Slug & Lettuce Nottingham Market Square. It has also created new jobs for 15 additional staff.

The menu will stay the same, including vegan food and cocktails, and new vegan mocktails, as well as a revamped afternoon tea.

The bar will also be holding a VIP Opening Night with live DJ, entertainment, bubbly reception and menu tasters on February 7.
