Two injured: Spalding Lorry crash leaves trail of destruction

Fire and rescue needed to cut two men free from the lorry

A lorry crashed into four cars and left a trail of destruction on a residential street in Spalding.

Firefighters needed to cut two men out of the lorry after the crash on Commercial Road at around 5.40am on Monday, January 20.

Dramatic pictures from the scene show how the lorry ploughed through four cars, which then appear to have veered into nearby houses.

A man and a woman who were in the lorry were taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-changing.

Lincolnshire Police closed off the road on Monday morning to investigate, causing delays in the nearby area.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said its crews “used Holmatro cutting gear to remove two casualties from one of the vehicles.”
