A 23-year-old man has died after a construction incident at a central Lincoln development site.
The man, who was working for subcontractors Melfort Construction on the Lindum Rudgard Lane student accommodation site off West Parade, is understood to have become trapped under an overturned tipper.
Melfort Construction is based in Chesterfield and the worker is from the Nottinghamshire area.
Lincolnshire Police confirmed that the worker has died and that his next of kin had been informed.
The force is working with the Health and Safety Executive to establish the circumstances of the fatal incident.
Police, fire and ambulance crews began a rescue operation at the building site just before 11am on Thursday, January 9.

Nearby roads were closed off and staff were told to leave the area.
An overturned forward tipping dumper could be seen in the centre of the muddy building site and a few members of staff could be seen speaking with police and officials.

Black tarpaulin covers were lifted over the perimeter fencing the site just after 12 noon while investigations into the industrial incident began.

Lead contractors on the site Lindum have offered condolences to families and staff affected by the tragic incident.
Lindum Group company secretary Herman Kok said: “We are extremely sad that an employee of one of our sub-contractors has lost his life following an incident on one of our construction sites earlier today.
“Our thoughts go out to his family, friends and colleagues at this awful time.
“We will be working closely with the Health and Safety Executive and emergency teams as they carry out their investigations into the tragic event and we will be supporting Lindum employees and other site personnel who have been affected.”
Work had been ongoing to build a four-storey apartment block, which used to be the site of a garage.
