Crowland man who rescued cat from can hits out at litter louts

The cat was sat completely still just a couple of inches away from a large puddle of water

A Crowland man managed to rescue a cat after he found it crying with a discarded chopped tomatoes tin stuck on its head.

Chris Barnes was driving to see his friend on Thursday morning on Hundreds Road when he noticed the cat. He then heard whimpering.

The cat, which Chris believes to be a female, was sat completely still just a couple of inches away from a large puddle of water.

The cat is now recovering.

It was cold and wet at the time so when he managed to get the tin off the cat’s head, Chris took her home to dry and to feed her.

Chris told Lincolnshire Reporter that he’s “not a massive fan of cats” but he said he would help any animal if it was in distress.

He took to social media to hit out at litter louts. Highlighting the impact on animals and wildlife.

So far, he has not reported the incident to the authorities and continues to look after the cat.
