Scunthorpe food recruitment call to help with coronavirus crisis

Various roles are available

A Scunthorpe food manufacturer needs people “now more than ever before” during the coronavirus crisis and is recruiting to help those seeking work in the region.

The coronavirus outbreak has seen an unprecedented demand for food production and poultry processing business 2 Sisters Food Group, which is located at Rams Boulevard on the Foxhills Industrial Estate in Scunthorpe, has various roles available.

The 2 Sisters Food Group, is keen to speak to people who may be out of work following the collapse of trade in the leisure and hospitality sectors, or anyone else affected by the outbreak. Anyone interested in applying should email [email protected].

A spokesman for the company said: “Our business is fast-moving and employs large numbers of people, so there are always opportunities at our site at Scunthorpe.

“But we need people now more than ever before. The government has classified all food production employees as critical ‘key workers’ and this is a great help to us so our people can continue to help feed the nation.

“We are experiencing unprecedented levels of demand for food, particularly for our poultry ranges produced in Scunthorpe, so we are very keen to help those who may be out of work. We have various roles ranging from packing, dispatch, preparation and there are various shift patterns to fit around people’s lifestyles.

“We can interview applicants immediately and hopefully we can accommodate as many people as possible. We will do all we can to help.”

Lincolnshire shops, factories and farms are also among those recruiting an army of temp workers to cope with the coronavirus crisis.
