More hour-long queues at Lincoln supermarkets ahead of Easter lockdown

Shopping for the Easter lockdown

The shopping frenzy ahead of the sun-basked Easter Bank Holiday coronavirus lockdown continued on Friday, with hour-long queues at several large supermarkets across Lincoln.

Since Thursday shoppers formed long socially-distanced queues around supermarkets, as only a limited number of people are allowed in at any time.

This meant some people had to wait for longer than an hour to get in to do their shopping, while others had a smoother ride.

Long queues however persisted on Good Friday from the early hours of the morning into the afternoon.

Jayne Snow saw the scenes pictured above at Asda in North Hykeham at 9.15am and said: “If I had to guess I’d say looking at an hour in the queue… Needs must.” She posted in the YPFL Facebook group.

A similar situation with long queues was reported to The Lincolnite at the Tesco Extra on Wragby Road and the Lidl on Dixon Street.
