German supermarket chain Aldi has submitted plans to build a new store in Grimsby.
The company has applied to North East Lincolnshire Council for permission to create the 1,804sqm store including car park, at Matthew Telford Park.
In documents before the authority bosses, the company said: “The proposal provides an attractive sustainable development on a greenfield site earmarked for development as part of a wider allocation
How the plans would be laid out.
“[It] also acts as a catalyst for other local centre uses, bringing further landscape and street-scape improvements.”
Bosses at the supermarket said the foodstore will create up to 40 jobs for local people plus additional employment around maintenance and window cleaning.
