Police officer’s car vandalised outside Lincoln station

Police are appealing for witnesses

Damage was caused to the windscreen of a police officer’s own car, which was parked outside the station whilst he was on duty.

Lincolnshire Police are now appealing for witnesses after the damage was caused to a white Peugeot 3008 outside the South Box Police Station on Boultham Park Road during the night of Sunday, April 19.

Investigations are ongoing and police will be reviewing the evidence.

Chief Inspector Phil Baker said: “Our officers along with other emergency workers are supporting the NHS during this uncertain time. They come to work to help protect the residents and support the ‘Stay at Home, Support the NHS and Save Lives’ campaign.

“It is very disheartening that someone has damaged one of our officer’s vehicles while they were on duty offering their support to those who need it. This behaviour is not acceptable at any time.

“Investigations are ongoing and we will be reviewing our evidence to bring the offender to justice.”

Anyone witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage, should contact Lincolnshire Police on 101 or via email at [email protected] quoting incident number 59 of April 20.

Alternatively, it can also be reported through the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online here.
