Three-week Canwick Road lane closure for gas pipe upgrade

The work is set to take three weeks

A three-week lane closure will be in place on the southbound side of Canwick Road from next week due to an essential gas pipe upgrade.

Lincolnshire gas network Cadent will start the essential work on Canwick Road on Tuesday, April 14 to maintain gas supplies to local homes and businesses. The roads should be less busy than usual due to the current restrictions in place during the coronavirus crisis.

Engineers will be installing a new gas pipe between the junction with A15 South Park Avenue and the junction with Washingborough Road. The work is due to take three weeks and coronavirus precautions, including social distancing, will be maintained throughout the work.

To keep staff and road-users safe, a lane closure on the southbound side of Canwick Road, between South Park Avenue and Washingborough Road, so motorists are advised to leave extra time for their journeys.

The new and larger gas pipe will ensure there is enough gas to meet local demand now and in the future.

Cadent said: “The safety and well-being of customers and colleagues is Cadent’s number one priority. Coronavirus precautions will be maintained throughout this work.

“Engineers will ensure social distancing between themselves and pedestrians. This work will not require them to enter anyone’s homes.”
