Man dies after serious assault in Lincoln

He has died from his injuries

A 50-year old man who was the victim of an assault in Lincoln has died in hospital.

Police have arrested and bailed a 38-year-old man in connection with the attack.

The incident took place on Saturday, May 16 near the university bridge on Brayford Way in Lincoln between 11pm and midnight.

The victim suffered a serious head injury. He was rushed to hospital  but died on Tuesday, May 19.

Lincolnshire Police are treating the death as unexplained.

Investigating officers are continuing their appeal for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage of the area between 11pm and midnight on the day of the crime.
