McDonald’s to re-open all drive-thrus next week

Ready for a McDate?

The wait to get your McDonald’s fix is nearly over after the fast food giant announced it would re-open every drive-thru by June 4.

Every drive-thru, including the four in Lincoln – Ropewalk, Newark Road, Moorland Way and at the Carlton Centre – will re-open between Tuesday and Thursday next week.

McDonald’s will release the locations of the re-opening restaurants on the morning of each day.

It will also continue to work with local authorities and the police as it extends its re-opening plans as last week, on occasion, it had to close drive-thru lanes where demand impacted communities or the safety of its people or customers.

McDonald’s will also start to expand the availability of its McDelivery following the work of its teams in its 44 pilot restaurants, but exact restaurant locations have yet to be publicly confirmed.

With smaller teams, McDonald’s will still be offering a limited menu over reduced hours. It also asked customers make contactless payments and limit spent to £25.

A McDonald’s spokesperson said: “With fewer employees working in our kitchens and service areas, our teams will still need your patience and support as they continue to adjust to the new ways of working.

“Face coverings, gloves, perspex screens and new safety and hygiene processes mean it will look different, it will take a little longer and as we have seen in the pilot restaurants, we expect demand will be high. Please bear with us, we will continue to put our people first – their safety is our priority.

“We are continuing to review these measures as we reopen, but for now, these restrictions remain in place to help our employees, customers and delivery partner couriers to remain safe.”
