People in Lincoln were basking in the sun in local parks and in the city centre on what is the hottest day of the year so far.

The Met Office said temperatures hit as high as 31℃ at Heathrow Airport earlier on Wednesday and were predicted to reach around 33°C in parts of the UK this afternoon. Lincoln only saw 29℃ today.

Lincoln continued to enjoy plenty of sun with people seen relaxing in locations including Boultham Park and The Arboretum, although parks on the whole seemed rather quiet.

The Bailgate area of Lincoln was also seen to be quiet with shops saying it was busier last week.

However, there were still queues in the city centre outside shops including Primark.
