People in Lincoln were basking in the sun in local parks and in the city centre on what is the hottest day of the year so far.
The Met Office said temperatures hit as high as 31℃ at Heathrow Airport earlier on Wednesday and were predicted to reach around 33°C in parts of the UK this afternoon. Lincoln only saw 29℃ today.

Lincoln continued to enjoy plenty of sun with people seen relaxing in locations including Boultham Park and The Arboretum, although parks on the whole seemed rather quiet.
It is officially the warmest day of the year so far across the UK 🌡️ ☀️.

The Bailgate area of Lincoln was also seen to be quiet with shops saying it was busier last week.
However, there were still queues in the city centre outside shops including Primark.

Plans for an anaerobic digestion plant at the former Manby Airfield near Louth have been given the go-ahead, set to produce enough energy to heat about 54,000 homes.
Anaerobic digestion breaks down organic materials without oxygen to produce biogas for electricity and heating. The facility plans to use straw-based cattle manure, chicken litter, and straw from local farms.
A man who denies raping a drunk woman in a Skegness park had been in the UK for just 40 days, a jury heard on Thursday.
Saad Gomaa, 34, denies raping the woman in the resort’s Tower Gardens on 9 June this year, telling jurors it was consensual sex which lasted around two minutes.
