Lincolnshire coast school closed as pupil has a fever

The school is temporarily closed

A primary school on the Lincolnshire coast has temporarily closed due to a child having a fever.

Sutton on Sea Community Primary School on Station Road, Mablethorpe posted a copy of a letter to parents, carers and children dated June 16 on its Facebook page.

The school said child did not attend school on Tuesday due to having a high temperature on Monday evening.

It added that the earliest the school will be able to reopen is on Monday, June 22.

The letter read: “As a precautionary measure and following protocols, the school is temporarily closed due to a child not coming to school today who had a high temperature on Monday evening.

“We need to take every measure to keep everyone in our learning community safe.

“The testing process and results will take a minimum of four days, which means the earliest the school will reopen is Monday, June 22.

“As soon as the school can open, you will receive a text message informing you of this.”

The news comes after it was announced on Wednesday that there were four schools in Lincoln which have reported a confirmed coronavirus case since June 1.
