Starbucks drive-thru planned in Grimsby

First brand to commit to a multi-million superstore revamp

By Local Democracy Reporter

Plans have been submitted for a new Starbucks store to be the first part of a multi-million pound superstore regeneration in Grimsby.

Ramsden Group has sent the application to North East Lincolnshire Council for a 1,800 square feet single-storey drive-thru and café.

The site will have 30 parking spaces on the corner of Cleethorpes Road and Park Street, and its development is expected to create 200 jobs.

With this, Starbucks has become the first major brand to commit to the revamp of the former Ramsdens Superstore.

The former Ramsdens Superstore has been barren since 2016.

Nick Ramsden, managing director of Ramsden Group, hopes it will be the beginning of a very exciting development.

He said: “The Starbucks investment will enable this key regeneration project to get under way, bring new life to a derelict site and deliver major improvements to the street scene.

“This will be the first stage in a major, private sector-led development that will transform the local area and bring significant investment, new businesses and jobs to Grimsby.”
