Woman charged with murder after Scunthorpe stabbing

Police continue to support the victim’s family

A 45-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of 35-year-old Piotr Rafal Konior after a stabbing in Scunthorpe.

The incident took place on Crosby Street in Scunthorpe at around 1.30am on Saturday, May 23. Piotr was given medical attention at the scene, but was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Malgorzata Pytlak, of Crosby Street, was charged on Tuesday, June 23 and remanded into custody. She is due to appear via video link at Grimsby Magistrates Court during the morning of Wednesday, June 24.

Five people were arrested at the scene, with four being released on conditional bail, including Pytlak, and a fifth released unconditionally.

Three men, who were arrested on suspicion of murder at the same time as Pytlak, remain on conditional bail as enquires continue.

Humberside Police said Piotr’s family have been informed of the update in the investigation and continue to receive support from specially trained officers.
