Man arrested after woman dies in A16 crash

The crash involved three vehicles

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a woman died in a crash on the A16 at Louth.

The 29-year-old woman died after a collision on London Road at Burwell, involving a silver Peugeot 208, a silver Ford Fiesta and a grey Mercedes GLA, which was reported to police at 6.21pm on Wednesday, July 15.

Lincolnshire Police said shortly after 11am on Thursday that they were still on the scene investigating the collision, with roads closed and diversions in place.

Police said next of kin have been informed and several other people remain in hospital and are receiving treatment for their injuries.

Police would particularly like to hear from anyone who witnessed or captured footage of the Mercedes GLA prior to the collision in the Burwell area.

Anyone with information should contact Lincolnshire Police quoting incident number 372 of July 15.

It was one of three fatal collisions in Greater Lincolnshire on Wednesday evening. A female motorbike rider in her 30s died on the A52 at Barrowby. A male scooter rider died after a crash on the A18 Kingsway in Scunthorpe.
