Murder investigation in Boston as assault victim dies

Victim named as new evidence emerges

A 43-year-old man who was the victim of a serious assault in Boston has died, and police are now dealing with the incident as murder.

On Tuesday, July 28, at around 6.15pm on Red Lion Street, a man in his was 40s taken to hospital after being assaulted by an 18-year old male.

The victim has since been named as 43-year-old Gediminas Vaitkus, and he passed away as a result of his injuries.

The teenage suspect, Hikmet Maez, of Spilsby Road, Boston, was charged by police with GBH in connection with the incident.

Due to the death of the victim, police are now treating it as a murder investigation.

A renewed appeal by Lincolnshire Police has been launched as they look to find the man pictured below.

Officers stress that this man is not a suspect but could be an important witness.
