COVID-19 staff case at Lincoln village school

30 children are also self isolating

A member of staff at a primary school near Lincoln has tested positive for coronavirus and is now self-isolating, along with 30 children and three other staff within that bubble.

The Holt Primary School, which is located on Swallow Avenue in Skellingthorpe, said it immediately contacted the local public health team after the staff member’s positive test result on Friday evening.

The school currently remains open to all other pupils.

The school’s headteacher Julie Leach said: “On Friday evening a member of staff received a positive test result and is now self-isolating.

“We immediately contacted the local public health team, and, in line with government guidance, the 30 children and three other staff within this bubble are self-isolating for 14 days as a precaution.

“The safety of our staff and pupils is our top priority, and we have a range of measures in place to prevent the spread of the virus, including frequent handwashing and social distancing.

“As a result, the rest of the school remains open to all other pupils, although we will be monitoring the situation closely and keeping parents informed.”
