Elderly woman dies in Scunthorpe crash

Another driver was seriously injured

An 89-year-old woman died after a crash involving three cars in Scunthorpe.

At 10am on Wednesday, three cars crashed at the junction of Fardell Road and Queensway in the town.

The driver of a silver Honda Logo, an 89-year-old woman, was taken to hospital and died of her injuries.

The driver of a black Vauxhall Zafira suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries, while the driver of a white Peugeot Boxer was not hurt in the incident.

Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses of the crash or anyone that saw either the Vauxhall or the Peugeot prior to the incident.
