Would-be shoplifter ‘abusive’ to store staff

An man allegedly verbally abused staff during an attempted theft at a Lincolnshire Co-op store in Lincoln.

A man entered the store on Burton Road on September 10 and placed items from the shelves into his bag.

He became verbally abusive to staff who challenged him before leaving the items in the store and fleeing the scene on a bicycle.

Lincolnshire Police published an image of a man on Monday, October 5 who they wish to identify and speak with in connection with the incident.

However, the force did not specify whether the man is a suspect or a witness.
