Direct Cleethorpes to London train service on track after test run

Hopes for a long-awaited return of a direct Cleethorpes to London train route have been bolstered by an LNER test run from the coastal station.

Campaigns have taken place for the reinstating of a Cleethorpes to London rail route for more than 30 years, and testing plans were confirmed by the Transport Secretary Mark Harper earlier this month.
