‘Comedy piece’ Home Office meeting fuels residents’ anger against RAF Scampton asylum centre

Unanswered questions rile up Scampton residents

Residents of RAF Scampton are voicing their anger and frustration at the Home Office after a poorly executed online engagement meeting earlier this week.

The meeting, held via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday, commenced late and was run by government representatives who mistakenly muted themselves multiple times and refused to answer several questions from local residents.

Sarah Carter, leader of the Save Our Scampton campaign group, likened the event to a “comedy piece.”
