A new eye in the Lincolnshire sky: First Protector drone arrives at RAF Waddington

Lincoln becoming the home of remotely piloted air systems from the UK

The future of military defence is starting to begin here in Lincolnshire, with the arrival of the first Protector drone at RAF Waddington — a remotely piloted air system that can attack targets and complete surveillance anywhere in the world, while being operated from the air base south of Lincoln.

Protector drones are unmanned aircraft kitted out with an array of surveillance equipment, allowing crews back at the RAF Waddington base to guide ground squads from anywhere in the world, as well as launch military offensives if necessary.
