Digging for Britain: Anglo-Saxon cemetery found during Viking Link works

Finds including jewellery, pottery and human remains

Archaeological discoveries from an Anglo-Saxon cemetery which were found underground in rural Lincolnshire will feature on BBC 2 Digging for Britain at 8pm tonight (Tuesday, Jan 9).

The episode entitled ‘A Roman Mystery and Waterloo’s Disappearing Dead’ will show the finds uncovered during the construction of Viking Link, the world’s longest land and subsea inter-connector. Viking Link went live on December 29 and enables the sharing of electricity between the UK and Denmark.
