With less than 24 hours to go to the 2016 Lincolnshire Show, the 200 acre showground site north of Lincoln is bursting with activity.

More than 600 traders are putting the final touches on their displays as organisers anticipate that the show will be the biggest to date.

Taking place on Wednesday, June 22 and Thursday, June 23, the Lincolnshire Show promises something to suit all ages and tastes as it welcomes exhibitors and traders from as far as Australia.

CEO of the Lincolnshire Showground Jayne Southall said: “The influx of traders wanting to showcase at the show is fantastic and this seems to be growing year on year.

“We always enjoy highlighting the best of Lincolnshire and the brilliant local SMEs that make this region thrive and we’re especially looking forward to seeing our Grow with the Show winners, Mantle.

“The Show saw record-breaking visitors across the two days last year and we hope to have another great year. We look forward to welcoming returning traders and showing our new traders what the show has to offer.

“With everything from cooking demonstrations to live entertainment, livestock and equine shows and plenty of shopping – this is not an event to be missed.”

A number of businesses will be celebrating important anniversaries at the show in 2016. B&B Tractors has now been trading for 25 years while Ocean Designs will be hitting the ten year milestone.

Among them is Witham Oil and Paint Ltd which will be celebrating its 95th anniversary. Group managing director and trader at the Show, Nigel Bottom, will be joined by his father and this year’s Show president, Geoff Bottom, as the family business marks the milestone.

Nigel Bottom said: “We have been involved in exhibiting at the Lincolnshire Show for many years and my father has been going to the show for 65 years.

“I am proud of my father for being asked to be the Show president as we are loyal supporters of the Lincolnshire Show, the agricultural industry and the wider local community and have been for many years.

“Many of the exhibitors and attendees are customers and we are proud to be celebrating our 95th year of trading at this year’s show.

“We will have displays of machinery that use either our oil or paint and we will be trying to make the pieces as unusual as possible. It’s a time for us to say thank you to all our customers as well as hopefully keeping everyone up to date with our latest products and services.”

Tickets will be available on the day at £23 for adults, £7 for children, and under-fives go free. Car parking is free on both days.
