The team behind Lincoln High Street’s first central fish and chip shop are getting ready to open the doors after a £100,000 investment.
The Lincolnite took a sneak peek of the new-look takeaway restaurant which is set to open within weeks in the former YoYo Noodle Bar.
The new business, which has created seven jobs in total, is almost ready to set an official opening date, welcoming both takeaway customers and those wishing to dine in.

There’s room for 32 people to sit inside the restaurant, which has been designed for Hunters by Jay Blades, star of BBC’s Money for Nothing.
Inside, customers will find unique up-cycled furnishings, as well as a children’s area for little ones to eat and play.
All the items on the menu are locally sourced with fish line caught in Grimsby and Maris Piper potatoes grown in Lincolnshire.
The menu selection at Hunters is locally sourced and fresh.
Also included on the menu is the business’ famous Lincolnshire fish cakes recipe, with layers fish, potatoes and cheese.
The shop will initially open between 11am and 9pm seven days a week, which will be reassessed after 12 weeks of trade.

Project manager Hayley Henshall said: “The first Hunters in Louth has done really well.
“Everything in the Lincoln building has been changed. We knocked down counters, table space, wall plasterboards and then we took everything down to the shell.
“So many people have asked when we’re opening and the local businesses have been very supportive too.
“The new business brings something very different to the selection in the city. I believe we’re the first ever central High Street fish and chip shop.”
General manager Jamie Parnell said: “To our first customers I’d recommend anything homemade. Our Lincolnshire fishcakes do really well.
“Everything is locally sourced. The potatoes are locally grown and chipped by the staff, and the fish is from Grimsby, fresh every day.
“Anything that people might see at a dearer rate is from just around the corner so it gives it that justification.”
Jamie also had a few ideas for the upcoming Christmas Market: “We’re looking forward to welcoming customers during the busy Christmas period.
“One idea I had was a Christmas fish cake with lots of layers. So lots to look forward to.”
