A Lincoln village nursing home has been closed after an inspection at the premises last week identified “serious concerns”.
All residents have been moved out of Eagle Nursing Home, which is based at The Old Rectory on the High Street in Eagle.
Concerns were raised through monitoring by Lincolnshire County Council, which stated care at the home was “not adequate”.
This sparked an unannounced inspection by the Care Quality Commission on June 6 and 7.
The CQC is continuing its inspection of the home at the time of writing and a report into its findings is expected to be published at a later date.
One source source told The Lincolnite that residents were allegedly moved due to neglect, but authorities have not confirmed claims at this stage of enquiries.
In a 2017 inspection, the service was rated overall as ‘Requires Improvement’ for every element of the report.
The county council told The Lincolnite officers met with families of state-funded residents who have been moved.
The council will also offer support in the same way to self-funded residents to ensure they are moved to an aged location.
Executive member for adult care at Lincolnshire County Council, councillor Patricia Bradwell, said: “We can confirm that we have already taken steps to ensure residents affected by the situation at Eagle Nursing Home are receiving the right care and support.
“The standards in the care home were not adequate and having worked closely with the Care Quality Commission and local NHS commissioners, we have taken the decision to move residents so they get the best care and support possible.
“Situations of this nature are extremely rare and I want to reassure people that anyone with care needs will have access to the right services to support them.
“If anybody is concerned about any issues regarding the care either they or a member of their family is receiving, please contact 01522 782155.”
A spokesperson for CQC said: “Following information highlighted by Lincolnshire County Council, CQC carried out an inspection at Eagle Nursing Home in Lincolnshire on June 6 and 7 2018, which identified serious concerns.
“As a result of the inspection CQC is taking urgent action to protect the safety and welfare of people using the service.
“While our legal processes do not allow us to go in to further detail at this time a report of our inspection will be published in due course.
“Meanwhile we continue to work with our partner agencies locally, such as the county council. Any action CQC takes is open to appeal.”
Reporters tried to contact Eagle Nursing Home for a response, but staff and management were not reachable.
