The 13th Santa Fun Run and Walk is still looking for a main sponsor for the event, but organisers say it will not stop it from going ahead in December.
The 3.5km two lap fun race set around the historic Bailgate area of Lincoln will take place on Sunday, December 16 with over 2,500 runners dressed in their Santa suits expected to take part.
Runners will set off at approximately 11.30am from Union Road and two laps of the course later will finish at Castle Square to be awarded their medals.

Participants can still register for the race here.
Member of the Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia Peter Harrold founded the event in 2006, with the first edition having 500 runners, after getting the idea from Loughborough Rotary Club.
The numbers have increased steadily each year with the maximum number of 2,500 entrants for the past three years and over £600,000 has been raised for Lincolnshire charities and good causes since the event first began.

Peter told The Lincolnite : “It will go ahead. We have been backed by major sponsors the last few years including Co-op, the University of Lincoln, Siemens and Danwood, but we have not got a headline sponsor this year.
“There are various levels of sponsorship packages from £100 upwards and the main sponsor will have the race named after them, be able to enter a team and have their banners around the route.
“This year we are encouraging businesses in the Bailgate to put posters up supporting us and to give a donation. We don’t rely totally on sponsors, but it is important to help us raise more money for local charities.

“The event will definitely go ahead because we know we have the participation numbers with over 1,000 registered participants so far, but we need more sponsors.
“We have some interest, but nothing has come to fruition, we have some sponsors, but not a main sponsor and not as many secondary sponsors as we would like. We will have 2,500 runners and it is going to be a great day.”
Any interested sponsors should contact Peter Harrold on 07770 406883.
