Last orders as Lincoln Imp pub closes suddenly

It has closed just months after reopening

An iconic local pub has called its last orders as it closed suddenly for the final time.

The Lincoln Imp pub, based just off of Riseholme Road, was saved earlier this year when it was taken over by a new landlady.

Heron Foods were preparing to demolish the watering hole and submitted plans to transform the building.

Avril Pickard took over at The Lincoln Imp as the new landlady, hoping to save it for the community and prevent Heron Foods moving in.

Now, the owners have announced that the pub will be closed until further notice.

It is unclear at this time whether Heron Foods will reconsider the former pub as a new site to move into or whether a new landlord will take over.

The Lincolnite contacted the owners for a comment and they confirmed that the pub has closed.

It is the latest in the saga, which started in 2015 when the previous landlords left after a shock cancer diagnosis.
