Man arrested after police chase to Lincoln bus station

Police officers blocked a section of Lincoln Central bus station at rush hour this morning and arrested a suspected drink driver.

People in the area reported that around six police cars were on the scene and appeared to surround a red car.

Police confirmed the vehicle had refused to stop for officers and had lead them on a chase through the city centre.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “At 8.25am we received a report of drink driving on Canwick Road, Lincoln.

“The vehicle failed to stop. It eventually stopped at the bus station.

“The driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.”

A Lincolnite reporter on the scene said emergency services had dispersed by just after 9am and that a red car was parked on a grass verge with police tape across the windscreen.
