Four men have been jailed for a total of 14 years following a spate of burglaries and drugs offences.

At Grimsby Crown Court on Friday, December 9 seven men were sentenced for their part in the theft of cycles and motorcycles from outbuildings across North East Lincolnshire.

Detective Sergeant Ian Potter said: “This group came to our attention while investigating a spike in garage and shed burglaries which led to numerous high value cycles and machines being stolen.

“It quickly became apparent that the offenders involved were targeting specific addresses based on research and reconnaissance as only relatively expensive machines were being taken.

“As part of comprehensive enquiries we were able to identify and arrest those involved and it transpired that some of the group were also actively involved in the sale of class A and B drugs.

“I have no doubt that the offenders would have undoubtedly continued offending if they hadn’t been identified and brought to justice. “
