Smoke seen for miles as firefighters battle huge blaze in Boston

It took two main jets to put out the fire

Fire crews rushed to a large blaze at an industrial estate in Boston overnight.

Boston, Kirton and Leverton crews were called to Marsh Lane at around 9pm on Monday, March 18.

Eyewitnesses watched as flames licked the sides and roof of a storage container and plumes of thick smoke billowed into the night sky.

Charles Turner told Lincolnshire Reporter it started in the old H&L yard and garage on Riverside Industrial Estate.

“It appeared to be centred around a metal container with chimneys on the side.

“The flames were shooting out of the top. Two fire engines tackled the blaze.

“Shortly after, more fire engines appeared. The smoke could be seen as far away as Bennington.”
