Forget the well-known classic Lincolnshire words, if you dig a little deeper there’s a whole dictionary of Yellowbelly phrases.

Lincolnshire has lost a lot of its great dialect over time from its Anglo Saxon roots, mainly because of the agriculture in the county.

Here’s our third instalment of our Lincolnshire words feature and your chance to test your lingo with phrases beginning with ‘C’.

Aspiring model Ivy Watson from Lincoln has made it through to the semi-finals of hit TV show Britain’s Next Top Model.

Ivy, 22, who lives in Hykeham and attended Sir Robert Pattison Academy, is in the final four of the competition.

In Thursday’s (December 7) episode, Ivy was voted best picture for the second week in a row by the three judges.

Ivy, told The Lincolnite: “Getting best photo was incredible. After a really tough day on the go-see challenge it was so good to know I had redeemed myself on the photo shoot.

“I’m actually in disbelief that I’m in the final 4.

“The final is fast approaching now and I want it more and more every week I’m through, it’s in touching distance.

“I feel absolutely honoured to have got this far against so many other incredible girls. I just want to carry on proving to the judges I can do this and make everyone at home proud.”

The semi-final of Britain’s Next Top Model is on Thursday (December 14) at 9pm on Lifetime channel (Sky 156)
