Wine bar reopens after 25 years

Wine buffs: A wine bar will soon be open at The Lincoln Hotel with what it claims to be a unique concept in the area.

A wine bar will soon be open at The Lincoln Hotel. Bar 67 is almost complete after the previous venue within the hotel had been closed for 25 years.

The bar is hoping to attract local drinkers, not just hotel guests, with an extensive wine list and special offers.

Virtual bottles of wine will be on offer to customers, where they will pay a set price for six glasses of wine but can mix and match what bottle they come from.

With three price brackets at approximately £17, £21 or £27, clientele will be able to test their palettes.

Bar Manager, Adrian Gray (26), said he is excited to open what he feels is a new concept for the city.

Gray said; “The plan got the go-ahead in August last year after we noticed that there were no other specific wine bars in Lincoln, only cocktail bars.”

Bar 67 is aiming to fill a gap in the market but is also supporting local traders by stocking local products such as Steep Hill wine.

Also on the menu will be a range of food platters, prices starting from £9.95 per platter.

Set to open imminently, the manager expressed a desire for local people to come and see what is on offer.

Gray said; “We are excited to open soon and hope local people will come and try us out as we’re offering something new to Lincoln.”
