Police look for stolen bicycle owner

Bike recovered: Police are looking for the owner of a bike saved from a suspected thief at the weekend.

Lincolnshire Police are asking for a bike owner to get in touch after officers managed to arrest and charge a man for trying to steal it.

Police were called to Silver Street at around 6am on September 3 after reports of someone trying to steal a bicycle.

Officers on the scene arrested James Buckley (40), of Waterworks Street, Gainsborough. He was charged with taking the bike without consent.

He was also remanded in custody to appear at Magistrates Court on September 5.

The bike is a black Apollo XC26 men’s mountain bike and are appealing for the owner to come forward and claim it. Proof of ownership will be required.
