Police have arrested a 24-year-old local man in relation to an incident on May 18, when a nine-year-old school girl was sexually assaulted.
The man is currently being questioned at Lincoln Police Station.
As previously reported, the incident happened on Manby Street at the junction with Newark Road, Lincoln, at around 7.55am on Friday, May 18.
The nine-year-old school girl was approached and indecently assaulted by a man.
Since then, Lincolnshire Police added extensive patrols in the area and officers visited visiting all the local schools.
Inspector Shaun Baxter said: “This is an extremely rare, isolated incident and we are urging parents to remain calm and to take the normal common sense approach to stranger danger with their children.

Lincolnshire Police have found the body of a missing Lincoln boy.
The force appealed at around 4pm on Sunday, April 11, to find Daniel Coupland, 16, from Lincoln, after he went missing.
At 9.30pm police said that a body has been found, which has been identified as the missing boy.
In a statement, Lincolnshire Police said: “We would like to sincerely thank the media and the public for their support with this appeal and request that the family be given time to process this devastating news without intrusion or speculation.”
