Lincoln photographer Dominic Clark is grooming his facial hair in preparation for the British Beard & Moustache Championship, where he is representing Lincolnshire in the best Handlebar Moustache category.
The competition is in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and takes place in Brighton on September 15.
Dominic said: “I started growing the tash last September as part of a large beard for a Comic-con costume.”
He spends between five and 20 minutes each day to groom his moustache.
“On an average workday I simply wash it and work in a little wax just to keep it out of the way whilst I work,” he said.
“If I’m going somewhere where I need to be a little ‘spiffier’ I’ll spend longer with a stiffer wax combing it through evenly, checking the ‘handlebars’ are curled evenly and one last trim to take care of any stray hair.”
“I want to bring a cup back to our fair county to show our facial hair is best,” he added.
Dominic will have stiff competition this year. Here are some of the contestants from previous years.
