Lincoln chippy wins top national award

Mark of excellence: A fish and chip shop in Lincoln has won a national quality award for its well managed and tasty menu.

A fish and chip shop in Lincoln has won a special national award for the quality of its menu.

Elite Fish and Chip Restaurant off Tritton Road won the Fish and Chip Quality Award from The National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF).

The NFFF is a trade body that represents fish and chip shops in the UK and runs the quality award scheme to keep standards high within the chippy trade.

Only fish and chip shops with good hygiene, competent friers and high quality products are given the award.

Shops can try and get the award by going through an NFFF Approved Assessor inspection to demonstrate presentation, hygiene and cleanliness, staff training, equipment, frying, quality and sales skills.

The award is valid for two years, but can be retained if the standard remain at the same level of improve further.

Elite Fish and Chips’ Manager Gemma Grove said: “Receiving this quality award is a massive compliment to all our staff who all work to such high standards providing a superb service for everyone of our customers.”
