New title sponsor for Lincoln Santa Fun Run

Big help: A local company has stepped up to the title sponsor role for the Lincoln Christmas Fun Run, which raises money for charity.

A local business has come forward to take on the title sponsorship of the annual Lincoln Santa Fun Run.

The Lincoln branch of office services company Danwood are now the main sponsor of the charity fun run, now titled Danwood Lincoln Santa Fun Run.

They take up the role after Siemens stepped down as title sponsors. Previous sponsors of the race also include Lincolnshire Co-op.

As well as being named in the title of the run, Danwood can promote themselves on entry forms, competitor’s numbers, finisher’s medals, regular e-newsletters, other event communications and on the Bailgate course.

Last year, record numbers of runners turned out for the Siemens Lincoln Santa Fun Run and Walk, organised by the Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia, raising over £63,000 for local charities.

Charities benefitting from the run are Lincoln British Heart Foundation, St Barnabas Hospice Lincolnshire, Lincoln Samaritans, Candles, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, the Alzheimer’s Society and local Rotary charities.

Race Director Chris Illsley said: “It’s an exciting new partnership for the event, which will this year be known as the 2013 Danwood Lincoln Santa Fun Run & Walk.

“On behalf of the Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia, which organises the Santa Fun Run, we are absolutely delighted to have the company on board as the new title sponsor, especially as many Danwood staff have taken part in recent years to help raise money for the event charities.

“The 2013 Danwood Santa Fun Run & Walk will be a terrific festive day out for people of all ages, and with the support of our sponsors alongside our fantastic “dashing Santas”, we are hoping to beat the £63,162 raised last year and make a real difference to some very deserving causes.”
