First cash machine for Skellingthorpe village

Cash point: The first cash machine has been installed in the Skellingthorpe village near Lincoln.

The first cash point has been installed in the Skellingthorpe village near Lincoln.

The cash machine is at the Lincolnshire Co-operative foodstore on Jerusalem Road in the centre of the village.

Until now, Skellingthorpe residents had to drive or take public transport to their nearest cash machine in Lincoln, some four miles away.

Lincoln Labour’s parliamentary candidate Lucy Rigby said she brought the issue to attention earlier this year and has welcomed the news.

She said: “When speaking to Skellingthorpe residents, people told me that the lack of a cashpoint was a real inconvenience for them.

“I raised this with the Co-op in July and I’m delighted that the Co-op have once again proved that they listen to local people like no other retailer.”
