Council entices Lincoln shoppers with car park deals

Christmas deals: The City Council is enticing shoppers with extra deals on car parking, as well as the usual offers.

As Christmas looms, the City of Lincoln Council is hoping to encourage shoppers to the city with parking offers.

Excluding Lucy Tower car park, which is under repairs until February, all the car parks are running offers to help residents and visitors complete their Christmas shopping.

The current offers are:

  • £2.50 all day parking on Saturday or Sunday at Broadgate, County Offices, Rosemary Lane or Lincoln College;
  • 25% off parking on Mondays if you pay by phone at any council-run car park;
  • £2 after 3pm for three hours parking at Tentercroft Street car park, with free evening parking thrown in;
  • Regular evening parking discount and free charging at Broadgate car park for electric or hybrid vehicles.

Rod Williamson, City Services Team Leader, said: “We all know how stressful the festive period can get, and how easy it is to leave things until the last minute.

“Too often we end up battling through the crowds the last weekend before Christmas, only to find the shops have sold out of what we wanted to buy.

“Of course this time of year can become very expensive too. We hope people will take advantage of these parking offers now to help make Christmas shopping that bit easier.”
