Sneak peek: Lincoln H&M prepares for open day

Take as peek: H&M in Lincoln will open its doors on Thursday, August 14 and The Lincolnite visited the store to see what customers should expect.

H&M in Lincoln will open its doors for the first time a city shopping centre on Thursday, August 14.

The new two-storey fashion outlet in the Waterside Shopping Centre has created 25 new jobs, in a mix of full and part-time positions.

As previously reported, the 22,000 sq ft store was created as part of the centre’s £9 million reconstruction.

The official launch has been scheduled for 11am on August 14 with everyone who is in the queue before doors open receiving a 25% discount stamp.

The stamps will be valid until 5pm and each early-bird shopper will also receive a goody bag.

Music and entertainment will be provided on the day by a local DJ, as well as balloon modelling and a free nail bar for paying customers.

Between Saturday 16 and Sunday 17, a children’s entertainer will also offer activities such as face painting.

The opening times for H&M are 9am until 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10.30am until 4.30pm on Sundays.

The store offers collections for ladies, men, teenagers and children, as well as cosmetics, underwear, accessories.

The H&M women’s sport section is one of the biggest in the country and new deliveries arrive in-store daily.

H&M spokesperson Claire Wakeman said: “The nearest H&M store to Lincoln is almost an hour’s drive away, meaning Lincoln residents no longer have to drive 40 miles to shop our fantastic fashion.

“This store is only the second in the country with a specially designed façade.

“We are delighted to be adding Lincoln to our portfolio of store locations across the UK, it’s a diverse city with an abundance of culture and history.

“We have received feedback from the shoppers of Lincoln as well as nearby towns, who have been waiting for H&M to open and we are so happy to have found such a great location to open our first store in the city.”

Roy Greening, General Manager for Waterside Shopping Centre, said: “We’re thrilled to finally welcome H&M to the centre.

“H&M making its way to Lincoln has been a long time coming, as it’s been over a year since we began our redevelopment and this marks the final stages of our multi-million pound refurbishment, but there’s still more to come when Next opens in September.”
