Council approves two blocks of student accommodation on Tentercroft Street

East West Link Road development: The City of Lincoln Council approved a proposal for two blocks of student accommodation on Tentercroft Street.

The City of Lincoln Council Planning Committee approved a proposal for two blocks of student accommodation on Tentercroft Street.

The two new student accommodation buildings will each have three apartments, with 10 bedrooms per apartment, aimed at housing 30 students.

This was the second time developers Jackson & Jackson Developments submitted an application for the site.

Previous plans one four-storey building with 49 bedrooms were withdrawn in late 2013 and the design and use of the land for the apartments altered to two the current buildings.

The surrounding area has a predominantly commercial character and will be soon redeveloped as part of the East West Link Road project, which is due to start in November.

Dominik Jackson of Jackson & Jackson Developments said: “I’m really pleased to see that the site has been viewed in context.

“We’re keen to deliver this high quality development in close proximity to the University of Lincoln, again helping to relieve the local housing supply and support local employment.”
