Waterside South in Lincoln was closed for road works on Monday, January 26 with extra delays expected for motorists in the surrounding areas for a month.
Lincolnshire County Council are carrying out essential maintenance works in the area until February 27, as well as local business funded improvements.
Andy Gutherson from Lincolnshire County Council said: “We’re currently installing street lighting and improving the road surface to bring it up to the standard that’s needed for the road to be adopted by the council.
“We’re also installing CCTV cameras which, combined with the other works, will make the road safer for both drivers and pedestrians. Local businesses and property owners are contributing funding towards the improvements.”
The works coincide with traffic delays as a result of the Canwick Road works, which are ongoing until May.
Diversions are in place in the South of Lincoln and traffic is being managed in the area with manual lights and CCTV cameras.
