Shoppers were met with quite a sight as a procession, lead by ‘Jesus Christ’, made its way up Steep Hill to Lincoln Cathedral on Good Friday.

Actors staring in the returning Lincoln Mystery Plays series stepped out to follow Jesus, played by Charlie Seeley, as he carried a wooden cross up the incline to symbolise Christ’s suffering.

The hour-long procession acted as a prelude to the plays, which will be performed at the cathedral from August 3 to 13.
